Reflecting on a major milestone in Nigeria’s economic transformation — the successful launch of the Nigeria National Halal Economy Strategy in October 2025.

Developed in partnership with the Halal Products Development Company (HPDC) of Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Strategy represents a bold step toward positioning Nigeria as Africa’s leading hub for halal production and exports.

The launch was officially presided over by His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and brought together senior government officials, private sector leaders, international development partners, and foreign dignitaries.

This landmark event underscores the Federal Government’s commitment under the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to diversify the economy, attract foreign direct investment, create jobs, and unlock Nigeria’s share of the rapidly expanding global halal market — projected to exceed $3.4 trillion by 2028 across sectors including food, livestock, finance, pharmaceuticals, tourism, cosmetics, and fashion.

As we move from strategy to implementation, the focus remains on driving tangible outcomes, strengthening partnerships, and unlocking sustainable growth opportunities within Nigeria’s halal economy.
