Malaysia–Japan collaboration unveils next-generation wellness products

The health and wellness industry in Malaysia took a major leap forward yesterday with the soft launch of Dr. Kengo’s Euglena Royal Algae Drink and Euglena Collagen Shot, two cutting-edge products developed through a strategic partnership between Sirehemas Pharma Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia) and Euglena Co., Ltd. (Japan).

The launch event, held at Ujana Ilmu, Menara MATRADE, was graced by representatives from key government agencies including MATRADE, MTDC, and SME Bank, reflecting strong institutional support for biotechnology innovation and export driven collaboration.

These two new products mark the official entry of Euglena-based nutrition into the Malaysian consumer market. Euglena — a microalga widely researched in Japan — is celebrated for its 59 types of essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, proteins, and the unique compound paramylon, known for its immune-boosting and detoxifying properties.

Euglena Royal Algae Drink supports energy, wellness, and overall vitality while Euglena Collagen Shot is specially formulated for beauty and skin health, combining marine collagen with the bioactive power of Euglena. 

During the event, Dr. Kengo expressed optimism for the product's potential in Malaysia, and emphasized his aspiration to see these products enter regional and global markets, with Malaysia positioned as a production and innovation hub. 

Speaking on behalf of MATRADE, the agency reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Malaysian companies in their export journey, encouraging innovation-driven collaborations that can place Malaysia on the global wellness map.

This soft launch represents more than just the introduction of new products — it is a celebration of international cooperation, scientific advancement, and the growing demand for natural health solutions.
