Russia to launch unified halal certification system, joined by five others
To simplify trade and boost cross-border exports, Russia is preparing to introduce a unified halal certification system with five partner countries which are Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia.
Director General of International Center for Standardization and Halal Certification under the Spiritual Administration of Muslims or Russia, Aidar Gazizov said, the framework is expected to be developed in the coming months.
The Caspian Post reported, the initiative would allow exporters to obtain halal certification in their home countries once before selling their products across participating states without having to undergo additional certification procedures.

In recent years, Russia has placed greater emphasis on obtaining halal certification.
“For example, an exporter from Kazakhstan who receives halal certification domestically would be able to sell products in Russia or other member countries without further local approval. The same would apply to Russian producers,” he said.
The proposed unified standard is expected to streamline trade procedures, reduce costs for businesses, and strengthen economic cooperation among the participating countries.
