Two powerful duʿās the Prophet ﷺ praised.

These duʿās call upon Allah using some of His greatest names.

And the Prophet ﷺ said the person who made these duʿās called upon Allah with His Greatest Name (Ism al-Aʿẓam).

The Name that when Allah is asked by it — He answers.

Save these and recite them sincerely.

1️⃣ First Duʿā

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

الْمَنَّانُ

بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ

Allahumma inni as’aluka bi-anna laka al-hamd,

la ilaha illa anta,

al-Mannan,

Badiʿu as-samawati wal-ard,

ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram,

ya Hayyu ya Qayyum.

Meaning:

“O Allah, I ask You because all praise belongs to You.

There is no god but You, the Bestower of blessings, the Originator of the heavens and the earth,

O Possessor of majesty and honor,

O Ever-Living, O Sustainer.”

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“He has asked Allah by His Greatest Name.”

2️⃣ Second Duʿā

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنِّي أَشْهَدُ

أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

الْأَحَدُ الصَّمَدُ

الَّذِي لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

Allahumma inni as’aluka bi-anni ashhadu annaka anta Allah,

la ilaha illa anta,

al-Ahad, as-Samad,

alladhi lam yalid wa lam yulad,

wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.

Meaning:

“O Allah, I ask You as I testify that You are Allah.

There is no god but You, the One, the Eternal Refuge,

the One who does not give birth and was not born,

and there is none equal to Him.”

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“He asked Allah by His Greatest Name — when He is called by it, He answers.”
