Unpopular opinion: most halal investing apps are quietly overcharging you.
They slap a Shariah-compliant label on the same ETFs you can buy yourself — then charge you 0.5% to 1% on top. Hundreds of dollars a year for something you can do in 15 minutes through Fidelity or Schwab.
The ETFs themselves (SPUS, HLAL, UMMA) already have management fees. When an app wraps them and charges extra, you pay twice — once for the ETF, once for the app telling you it is halal.
Open a brokerage account. Buy the ETF directly. Keep your money working for you — not for their fees.
