Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia grants RM480,000 towards children’s care
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC Malaysia) awarded an additional RM480,000 medical grants for six hospital-linked welfare organisations today, to ensure children in need can receive timely and lifesaving care.
The organisation stated that the six welfare organisations includes IJN Foundation, Persatuan Kebajikan Pesakit Kanak-Kanak Hospital USM (PEKA), Tabung Kebajikan Pesakit Hospital TABTAR UKM, Tabung Kebajikan Perubatan Malaysia Hospital Tunku Azizah, PPUM Care and Tabung Kebajikan Perubatan Malaysia HWKKS.
This contribution totals RMHC Malaysia’s medical grants since 2018 to RM2.1 million, after surpassing its previous RM300,000 contribution in September 2025 directed towards the same six welfare organisations.
Its General Manager, Mohd Nasri Nordin expressed that the hardest words parents can say to their child is they cannot afford the treatment, and that families should not have to choose between their children’s life and a bill.
“These medical grants are our promise that every ringgit is a child’s chance to heal, to grow, and to simply be a child again.

“We will stand beside hospitals and welfare funds so families can focus on what matters most; and that is being there for their child,” he said in a statement.
According to RMHC Malaysia, this grant reinforces its long-term commitment in ensuring no child is left waiting for care due to cost, turning generosity into second chances for families across Malaysia.
Chairman of the Social and Welfare Committee as well as Member of the Board of Trustees at IJN Foundation, Raja Datin Seri Raja Zuraida Raja Mansur echoed the same sentiment, expressing her gratitude for the continued support from RMHC towards their mission.
“While RMHC is well known for providing a ‘home away from home’ for families in need, their partnership with IJN Foundation extends even further— helping us fund critical heart treatments and surgeries for underprivileged children.
“This contribution not only eases the financial burden faced by these families but also gives their children a renewed chance at a healthy future.

“We look forward to strengthening this collaboration so that together, we can ensure every child receives the lifesaving care they deserve,” she said.
Father to 2-year old Vellvilye Sivabalan, Sivabalan Letchuminadan said, RMHC has been a name for his community to turn to during their toughest moments because its grants do not only help families like his, but also those who live through the fear and uncertainty of a child’s life-threatening illness.
“We are deeply grateful for the support that has carried us, and so many others, through the most challenging periods of our lives,” he said.
The medical grant programme complements RMHC Malaysia’s four flagship initiatives— the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Sensory Room, Gift of Smile and the Back-to-School Pack Programme — which collectively help remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing for underprivileged children nationwide.
For 35 years, RMHC Malaysia has remained committed to its mission of developing, discovering, and supporting programmes that directly enhance the health and wellbeing of underprivileged children in Malaysia.
