MIHAS 2025 is set to achieve RM4.5 billion sales target
The Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2025 is set to achieve its RM4.5 billion sales target through its flagship International Sourcing Programme (INSP), according to preliminary results.
The report stated, INSP MIHAS 2025 saw more than 4,000 physical business meetings arranged between 600 Malaysian sellers and 300 international buyers which include top-tier retailers as well as hypermarkets with combined annual revenue exceeding RM1.5 trillion.
Currently, the programme has delivered significant sales and is expected to surpass the RM2.52 billion achievement from last year, further reinforcing Malaysia’s trade ties across ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Europe, Africa and America.
Chairman of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said, MIHAS continues to serve as a catalyst for Malaysia’s halal leadership as showcased by the strong performance of INSP this year.
“This achievement underscores the global demand for Malaysia’s Halal offerings. Through MIHAS and our digital platforms, we are enabling Malaysian exporters to connect with high-value global buyers and unlock new opportunities,” he said.

Hosted by MATRADE, MIHAS 2025 under the theme Pinnacle of Halal Excellence is scheduled to take place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur from 17th to 20th September.
In parallel, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul said, Malaysia is reframing halal as a driver of responsible innovation to strengthen sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
“By expanding halal trade, Malaysia is not only capturing value from a fast-growing global sector, but also hedging against volatility in traditional commodities, while reinforcing our role as a bridge between the Muslim world and global markets.
“As such, our RM62 billion halal industry – supported by events like MIHAS – is a forward-looking economic strategy that strengthens our resilience, enhances our soft power and secures new pathways to prosperity for Malaysians,” he said.
Today, MIHAS 2025 entered its third day with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim gracing the Official Opening Ceremony at MITEC that is held alongside the Opening of the Global Halal Summit.
Looking ahead, MATRADE in a statement stated, it is set to expand MIHAS’ global reach with MIHAS@Shanghai taking place from 5th to 11th November 2025 together with the China International Import Expo.
The Official Opening Ceremony of MIHAS 2025 at MITEC today marks the 21st year the international expo has been conducted.
“As one of the world’s most promising and strategically important halal markets, this expansion will provide Malaysian exporters with direct access to high-value opportunities across multiple sectors and a rapidly growing halal consumer base.
“MIHAS 2025 features 14 dedicated industry clusters covering Halal food, pharmaceuticals, Islamic finance, modest fashion, green technology, e-commerce, and Muslim-friendly tourism, alongside knowledge-sharing platforms such as the Global Halal Summit, Halal Sector Forum, and the Halal Certification Body Convention,” said MATRADE.
The government agency is looking forward to seeing the participation of 45,000 visitors, 2,400 booths, as well as exhibitors and buyers from 80 countries this year.
Since its inception in 2004, MIHAS has generated close to RM30 billion in export sales and attracted over half a million business visitors worldwide.
With INSP 2025’s robust performance and the upcoming Europe edition in 2026, MIHAS continues to chart new frontiers in positioning Malaysia at the heart of the global Halal economy.
