alrajhi bank Malaysia contributes Zakat Wakalah of RM100,000 to post-flood aid mission to Kelantan

Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation (Malaysia) Bhd (alrajhi bank Malaysia) launched a post flood aid mission to channel assistance to flood-stricken villages in Tumpat, Kelantan in line with the  Islamic Bank’s corporate values of caring for society. 


A collaborative initiative by alrajhi bank Malaysia, Pusat Pungutan Zakat Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP), and Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM), the mission is focused on the  clean-up and restoration of public infrastructure that have been damaged due to the floods.

The Bank contributed its zakat wakalah contribution of RM100,000 to the post-flood aid mission which  will be led by ABIM in Tumpat. 


Several mosques and surau across eight villages have been identified as the recipients of the aid. The  eight villages are Kampung Cherang Melintang, Kampung Taman Seri Dalam Rhu, Kampung Palas  Merah, Kampung Naga Ibu, Kampung Nechang, Kampung Kajang Sebidang, Kampung Kok Semeru, and  Kampung Telaga Bata. 


Syahrul Ishak, Chief Executive Officer, alrajhi bank Malaysia; Datuk Haji Abdul Hakim Amir Osman, Chief Executive Officer, PPZ-MAIWP; and Ahmad Fahmi Mohd Samsudin, President, ABIM were present at the mock cheque presentation ceremony which also served as the post-flood aid mission launch at the Zakat & Wakaf Run 2024 held in Kuala Lumpur recently. 


"This post-flood aid mission reflects alrajhi bank Malaysia’s commitment to support communities  affected by the recent floods. With the Bank’s presence in the state, we stand in solidarity with the  flood victims in Kelantan. We believe this collaborative effort with PPZ-MAIWP and ABIM will  contribute to the recovery and rebuilding efforts of Tumpat," said Syahrul Ishak.  


The joint effort between alrajhi bank Malaysia, PPZ-MAIWP, and ABIM underscores the crucial role of  partnerships across sectors in delivering efficient disaster relief to communities impacted by natural calamities.
